Priceless Living came about in an unexpected way. Instead of being an idea that popped into my mind like a light bulb turning on, it was a natural evolution that worked it’s way into every aspect of my life. Finally it nudged its way to the front of my consciousness insisting that I pay attention.
Meet Diana, A Priceless Sherpa
My friends said they wanted to be me. I’d co-authored a successful business book that opened doors from New York to Istanbul. I worked as a thought leader for corporate giants. I was at the top of my game. So why did I just want to drop out and play in my garden?
For a long time I looked for some gaping hole in my life to blame. A missing relationship, the wrong kind of work and even the wrong house made my list of potential culprits. In the end what I found was this - the only thing wrong with my life was my own failure to let more of it in.
Like many people, I was focused on only one thing and work held center stage.
Once I recognized the imbalance, I looked for ways to open up my life. The first step was to understand what was really important to me. Then I consciously looked for ways to bring those elements into my life.
I spent more time with family and friends. I used my creativity in new ways, writing songs and growing flowers. I was more physically active. A surprising addition to my life was the iPod. With music always available I could shut down my over-worked mind whenever I wanted.
Now, life is richer and the inevitable bumps are less frequent and easier to manage.
And so here I am.
Sharing what I’ve learned is part of my Priceless journey. My hope is that it will help your journey be happier as well.
